About Us

Nahda Islamic Charity Association is a civil association based in Jbeil, licensed under legal notice No. 6/AD dated 22/01/1981, with an amendment to its purpose under decision No. 234/AD. In 1986, the association established Al Mahabba Dispensary in the historic center of Jbeil in partnership with Father Brother Nour. It later established Al Salamah Primary Health Care Center in Old Jbeil - Haret Jahjah in 2019.

Mission and Legal Purpose

2019

Launch of Al Salamah Primary Health Care Center

The center began operating in Old Jbeil - Haret Jahjah as part of the association’s health services.

2020

Food Parcel Distribution During COVID-19

MTV documented the distribution of 900 food parcels, including 200 parcels to families in Jbeil through Nahda Islamic Charity Association, Imam of Jbeil Sheikh Ahmad Al-Laqis, and local mukhtars.

2021

Ramadan Iftar and Medical Donation

A Ramadan iftar initiative served around 150 people in cooperation with Dr. Gilbert Al-Majzoub Foundation. A donation of an oxygen generator and medical supplies to the association’s charitable dispensary in Jbeil was also documented.

2022

Community Visit and Partnership

Mohammad Choucair’s visit included Al Salamah Dispensary التابعة للجمعية, and one source noted that the association was represented by Sheikh Ahmad al-lakis.

2024

Intensive Health and Relief Activity

The year included medical supply donations, an official agenda entry for a planned visit, support for displaced families through meals and clothing, a visit by the Minister of Public Health to Al Salamah Center hosted by Sheikh Ghassan al-lakis, support for 13 shelters, and receipt of Eid sacrifice meat distributions.

2025

Official Inclusion in the PHC Network

The Ministry of Public Health listed “Al Salamah Primary Health Care Center – Jbeil” within the primary care network, identifying the association as the administrative body. A social media post in June 2025 also referenced services supported by the center.
